Astrology Houses As Major Arcana Tarot Cards.

Even tho Tarot Cards are my main field of work and study, in the spiritual realm everything is connected, so if you want to have a full scoop about the cards, you also have to learn the basics of other branches of spirituality.

So, for me to be a better Tarot Reader, I had to learn and study Astrology too, and as I dived into the Astros, the houses, and their meanings, I couldn't help but notice how similar they are to the core meanings of the Major Arcana Tarot Cards.

Because, a Natal Chart is divided into 12 sections, which are called Houses, that serve as a guide to understanding the influence each planet has on you depending on its position at the moment of your birth.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, we have Tarot's Major Arcana, composed of 22 cards that represent your journey in this earthly realm.

The Major Arcana represents each of the phases that we have to go through as a human to evolve mentally and spiritually.

Based on the meaning of each of the 12 Houses in Astrology, I crossed them over with a Major Arcana Card to help me understand them better.

And here are the associations I made:

The First House, ruled by Aries, is the house of Self, which is related to new beginnings and the resources you are going to have to succeed in life. This house could be represented by the Magician, the first card in the Major Arcana, because the Magician has all the resources he needs to do magic.

The Second House, ruled by Taurus, is the house of Value and Possessions, related to material belongings and all the wealth and money you can have in this realm. This house could be represented by the Emperor, the card of wisdom and power, as he managed to own a kingdom for and by himself.

The Third House, ruled by Gemini, is the house of sharing or communications, representing generosity and how you adapt yourself to your surroundings. So the Temperance card is perfect for it, as it recalls balance and perfect harmony.

The Fourth House, ruled by Cancer, is the house of Home and Family, which determines your origins, roots, and the motherly instincts you will have in your life. And the mother of the Tarot Cards is the Empress, which represents motherhood, and by being surrounded by the woods, it also represents frugality.

The Fifth House, ruled by Leo, the House of Pleasure, focuses on the hobbies and activities you enjoy doing and bring you happiness. And the Sun is the perfect card for it because the 5th house also represents children and fertility, which are the main symbols you can find on this card.

The Sixth House, ruled by Virgo, is the House of Health, both physical, mental, emotional & spiritual. This is the house of vigor and strength. So the Strength card represents this house, as this card embraces all the qualities of the sixth house.

The Seventh House, ruled by Libra, is the House of Balance or Partnerships, which rules all your partnerships, marriage, business matters, and diplomacy. So the Hierophant represents this house, as it is a card related to society, politics, relationships, and agreements.

The Eight House, ruled by Scorpio, is the house of transformation and sex, it tells you about the metaphorical deaths and rebirths you will have to experience in your journey, and the sexual relationships and commitments you will have in life.  So the Death card represents this house because SAME.

The Ninth House, ruled by Sagittarius, is the house of Philosophy and Purpose, and it is through this house that you discover yourselves and come to find your place in this world. So the Fool is the card for it, as this card depicts the journey of self-discovery you have to go thru in life.

The Tenth House, ruled by Capricorn, is the house of Enterprise or Social Status, and in this house, you find your ambitions, motivations, career, and your need to be important. Which can be represented by the Devil as this card represents the chains that you put in yourself by pursuing your endeavors.

The Eleventh House, ruled by Aquarius, is the house of blessings and friendships, and this house represents the good luck you can have in your life and the benefits you can get from the relationships you build. So the Wheel of Fortune is the perfect card for this house, as it represents luck.

And finally, the Twelfth House, ruled by Pisces, is the house of Sacrifice and Unconsciousness, which relates to your coping mechanism and the sacrifices you have to do to achieve your greater end and the illumination you’ll reach as you mature and evolve. So the Hanged Man is the perfect card for it as it embraces all those characteristics.

And those are the Major Arcana Cards that represent the 12 Astrology Houses based on their meaning and similarities.

But then again, this is a theory I created in my studies, I might be wrong so feel free to drop a comment and let me know if you agree with it or if you have other suggestions.
